Palermo public prosecutor's office appeals against Salvini's acquittal in the Open Arms case
The trial against Salvini is continuing after all! The Palermo Public Prosecutor's Office has appealed against Salvini's acquittal and again refers to applicable international maritime law. The acquittal ruling is said to be insufficiently substantiated. Salvini, supported by Meloni, reacted immediately, saying he remains convinced that ‘it is not a crime to defend Italy and its borders’.
