Strengthening of authoritarian forces through EU externalization policy in Africa
With the ongoing digitization of the European migration system, extensive biometric and personal data is being processed in networked EU information systems. This book examines how asylum seekers and irregular migrants can enforce access to their data and its correction or deletion, and analyzes the central rights to information, access, correction, and deletion, as well as the right to effective appeal. It highlights key data and procedural challenges and includes Switzerland and the Western Balkans, which are integrated into the EU's migration-related data structure as associated or accession countries. read more
