Man dies attempting to cross English Channel on small boat
A 40-year-old Indian migrant died trying to cross the Channel on 27 October, bringing this year's death toll to 56. Overcrowded, poorly equipped boats are making crossings increasingly deadly, with 2023 on track to be the deadliest year since 2018.
