Kurdish-Iranian activist Maysoon Majidi released

The court in Crotone has ordered the release of Maysoon Majidi, a Kurdish-Iranian activist and filmmaker, who was arrested in December on charges of being an escort after a landing in Calabria. The decision came after several witnesses testified that the charges were dropped. Majidi, who fled Iran to escape persecution of the Kurdish minority, has always maintained his innocence.
