EU to offer Egypt more incentives at October summit

EU officials confirmed this week that the EU-Egyptian summit will be held on 22 October in Brussels. The two states have been working on the tightening of their cooperation, with Egypt being a key regional ally of the bloc on migration control and energy. Although civil society groups have reported major and multiple human rights violations of refugees fleeing the civil war in Sudan at the hands of the Egyptian authorities, the EU executive branch has repeatedly praised thegovernment’s handling of migration. read more
