RSF attacks on Samsam refugee camp must be investigated as war crimes
In April 2025, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) deliberately killed civilians, took hostages and looted and destroyed mosques, schools and clinics during an attack on Samsam (also known as Zamzam), the largest camp for internally displaced persons in North Darfur. This is the conclusion reached by Amnesty International in a new report, which calls for these violations of international law to be investigated as war crimes. read more
