10 years of Alarm Phone

Ten years ago, the Alarm Phone was launched. An emergency hotline for migrants in distress at sea, manned 24 hours a day by volunteers from Europe and North Africa. Since then, the initiative has handled over 8,000 emergency calls involving more than 200,000 people and calls for rescue services. Despite their efforts, many people continue to die in the Mediterranean, but without the Alarm Phone, many of these tragedies would have gone unnoticed. read more
