"The hope disappeared"
Video footage from the aid organization "Doctors Without Borders" shows migrants setting off on foot from northern Italy across the snowy Alps. For them, it is the last stage of a long journey.
They have already covered hundreds of kilometers on foot by the time they arrive here in northern Italy at the foot of the Alps. Despite the snow and cold, migrants, most of whom have reached Italy via the so called Balkan route, are currently making their way across the mountains to France or Austria.
