Munich introduces payment cards for asylum seekers – and makes several exceptions
The city of Munich will begin issuing payment cards for asylum seekers in the last week of June. According to the social affairs department, 4,670 people were considered for this in principle. In future, they will receive their financial support on a chip card from which they can withdraw a maximum of 50 euros per month. It will be issued to all those entitled to it from the age of 14. In this way, the city is following the guidelines of federal policy in the last block of the gradual introduction.
