Campaign to free the El Hiblu 3 urges Malta's Attorney General to 'drop charges'

Almost 1,000 people have signed an open letter to Malta’s Attorney General, demanding that all charges against Amara, Abdalla and Kader are dropped. The young men were arrested and accused in Malta of having committed several crimes, including of terrorism and of hijacking a ship. The letter states that "instead of being prosecuted, the El Hiblu 3 should be celebrated for their actions in preventing the return of 108 people to Libya." The letter has been signed by ten members of the European Parliament, academics, founders and members of NGOs, all demanding freedom for the boys. read more
