This was announced by the organisation behind the vessel, ‘CompassCollective’, based in the neighbouring Wendland region. A decree issued in early July lifts the previous restriction of deportations to Afghanistan to convicted offenders and designated security threats. It rests on a largely undisclosed agreement with the Taliban regime that aims to scale up group deportation flights to as many as three chartered flights a month.
