Refugees and migrants from Lesvos arrive in Piraeus
A total of 268 refugees and migrants transferred from the overcrowded hotspots on Lesvos arrived in Piraeus on the “Nissos Samos” ferry on Monday morning, where they were met by International Organisation for Migration staff. All have been classed as belonging to vulnerable groups and will be sent to refugee facilities and hotels in Attica, as part of an effort to decongest and improve conditions at the camps on Lesvos. They are the third group to leave the island, following the 408 individuals that left on Friday and Saturday. read more
